The Israeli army arrested Saturday a Palestinian photographer working for AFP, Mustapha Abu Daye, as he covered a demonstration in the northern West Bank town of Tulkarem, Palestinian officials said.
An Israeli army spokesman confirmed the arrest, saying the photographer and protestors had violated the town's curfew. But he added that Daye was expected to be released shortly after security checks were carried out.
